The beautiful Bielefelder (Bi-Lee-Felder) is a top choice for a high production of large unique shade of brownish pink-peach eggs. The Bielefelder was developed in Germany.  Their beautiful feather pattern is known as 'cuckoo red.' These large girls are docile and gentle, and good for families.  They score high in every department and are just a super breed. Despite their larger size, they can be bullied by other breeds and care should be taken as to what sort of flock to put them with. The Bielefelder is a good forager and hardy in both cold and hot climates. These girls continue to LAY YEAR-ROUND, including in colder, darker winter months, when most stop laying. Expect 4-5 large, light brown with pink/peach undertone eggs per week!
