The Painted Sussex isn't a true breed,  she is a beautiful sussex hybrid with painted feathers known for sweet temperament and high egg production.  These girls will lay approx 280 Large brown eggs/year!  The same as the Australorps. These girls are great bc they have a LONG LIFE  of production (apprx 7 year lifespan for a well cared for hen), and they do lay in winter (but at a slower pace).  Like the speckled sussex, they are good for beginners and families with children.  3/10 hatch
